The Marriage CourseFor any Married CoupleWill be run later in the year at St Peters.What it isThe Marriage Course is a series of eight sessions designed to help any married couple strengthen their relationship. It’s a great opportunity to spend time together as a couple looking at the important issues in your marriage. Who it is forIt is for any married couple who wants to work together at and invest in their relationship. If on the other hand your marriage is in difficulty, the course will help provide you with very practical tools to help you work through the issues. Some couples who are separated have used the course as a way of trying to get back together. While the course is based on Christian principles couples are welcome with or without a church background. Many couples who are not churchgoers have enjoyed and benefited from doing the course. What’s the cost?A basic charge of $160.00 will be made to cover the cost of the meals, manuals and ‘The Marriage Book’, to be paid before the commencement of the course. Who designed the course?The course was started by Nicky and Sila Lee in 1996. The Lees are on the staff at Holy Trinity Brompton - the London church that started the Alpha course. They have been married for over 20 years and have four children. They have spoken to thousands on the subject of marriage and are the co-authors of The Marriage Book which has sold over 52,000 copies since it was published in 2000. They run The Marriage Course (based on The Marriage Book) three times a year at Holy Trinity Brompton with around 100 couples on each course. Marriage is under attack in our society. Many feel it is an outdated institution. Those who do get married find it increasingly difficult to stay married. There has been an alarming rise in the divorce rate.
