Information

You don’t need to be Anglican to be married at St Peter’s Church.

Wedding Certificate Our Christian wedding ceremonies are offered to everyone. (Of course if you don’t have a home church, you are welcome to join us Sundays at 8.00am or 10.00am.)

Because St Peter’s is a very popular church for weddings it’s essential that you make a firm booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment over date and time. Please phone or email the office for an initial appointment.

Initial Interview

When it comes to the initial interview, you will need to bring along your birth certificates or passports (birth certificates if born in Australia) and the $500 deposit (see below).

A “Notice of Intended Marriage” form – an Australian Government requirement and other oaths and declarations (also required by the Government) will be discussed at this meeting. For couples living overseas a copy of the ‘Notice’ may be downloaded (From the Attorney General’s Department.)

It is also good for you to come along to a service in the church on a Sunday morning to experience the church setting with a congregation. These services commence at 8.00am each Sunday.

Preparation

MarriagePrepCourseWe at St Peter’s take your marriage vows seriously and want to do everything we can to help you start your married life on a firm foundation. To help achieve this we do require that each couple attend a preparation course. These are held throughout the year in an informal atmosphere together with other engaged couples. All the details will be discussed at the initial meeting with the rector. Click here to find out more about the course.
